Along with making a meaningful contribution to this country, where over 2,000,000 of its people were massacred during the Pol Pot Khmer Rouge regime, there are plenty of benefits that also make this a very special vacation. The magnificent Temple Complex of Angkor Wat is just one of the many reasons to come here.

Our prime routes of assistance are with Teaching English or generally helping with projects which restore the destroyed culture, and improve the lives and provide a future for children, orphans or those with disabilities, at our nominated schools and locations in the Kingdom of Cambodia. This may mean helping to provide wells in rural villages or simply delivering rice to one of the orphanages and watching the children dance. We encourage you to come here and stay while - it may transform you as it transformed us.

We never thought that coming to Cambodia would be more than a volunteer visit. But almost instantly we fell in love with this place of wonder, with its magical 'Indiana Jones' temples, its energy, and the delightful people.

Now there are two pathways for the 'Holidays with Heart'; 'Relaxed and Healing' and/or 'volunteer' focused. As we are a spiritual school we include opportunities for a more relaxed visit - which can be with superior accommodation if you choose - and accessing therapies that are helpful as the follow-up to the recommendations in the 'Lotus Feet' module.

'Green' Essene Projects

The 'green' project has just begun [2010] and aims are to create a center for the establishment of workshops, talks, presentations, courses such as Raw Plant Food Diets etc pertaining to the teachings of Ecole Essene. The 'green' project will provide job training and jobs for disadvantaged Cambodians and even new business opportunities providing hope for those who thought there may be no answers. The aims include the establishment of an English Language School requiring additional Volunteer English Teachers. Eventually we aim to extend this project to include a self-sustainable organic 'farm'. Although our prime request is for volunteers, any other assistance is much appreciated. We need furnishings, internet access, computers etc or the premises itself. Any and all assistance is welcomed.

General Things to Know:

You need to take out travel insurance to cover your trip.

You need to discuss with your doctor about your health, appropriate vaccinations or medicines etc that may be helpful to bring with you.

You can obtain a 30 day visa on arrival at the airport. Tourist Visas are $20 USD. Business Visas are $25 USD. Prices are correct at time of writing this information.

Bring a supply of current passport photos. You will need two for your visa, or two for a gym/spa package etc.

Jetstar provide some of the cheapest fares to Cambodia from Singapore. We can advise on what we believe to be the best ways to get here. You can be met at the airport if you choose at no charge. Just let us know.

Always use bottled water to drink and for cleaning your teeth.

Accommodation at destination is included, but not airfares or transport [except free pick up at destination airport] or food [unless stated] and we will direct you to your chosen volunteer work.
