for a bike for the monk to get to the school and medical center which lies
outside of the town. To raise funds for our projects we provide
a service and also additional options
so that your contribution is not limited to being a volunteer. Volunteers
can usually Teach English in one of a variety of village or Buddhist Schools
- providing they are not keeping a Cambodian teacher out of a paid job - or
assist with humanitarian projects. As a VIP

ongoing of caring and educational projects, while enjoying the kind of holiday you wish to have. You
will have the opportunity to learn about worthy projects and also the
pitfalls and things to watch out for, such as you want to visit an orphanage
but is it Child Safe? If you want a truly special

project village school and medical center just a few km from Angkor

thousand orphans age 0-17. 92% of the rural population do not have access to
adequate sanitation facilities. 44% of students never make it through fifth
grade education. This is Cambodia now……… 80% of the Cambodian population live in rural communities. 92% of rural communities
do not have access to adequate sanitation facilities, 47% in urban
populations. 65% of rural communities do not have access to healthy
drinking water. Only 64% of urban populations do. 36% of children under five years of age are classified as
underweight, moderate to severe. 470 thousand orphaned children were estimated to live in
Cambodia in 2005. 82 of every thousand,
or almost 1 in every 12 children born in 2006 are not expected to reach the age
of 5. Sokhoun became a Buddhist monk
at 15 and since that time has achieved some amazing things. He works tirelessly and without any pay as
the founder and director of the government endorsed NGO featured above, for Rural Area Kids,
Cambodia. This is one of the projects
you may visit and learn about when you visit.
For the past few years he has also freely given of his time to hold
twice weekly talks on Buddhism, and once weekly instruction on meditation for
visitors to Cambodia. Currently he
needs to raise funds to buy a bike so that he can travel more easily to his
NGO school and medical center which lies just outside the town. A visit specifically
for Teaching and Volunteering usually requires
a commitment of two to four weeks. You need to be fit
[enough to ride a bicycle]. *See our Volunteer

Our base program allows for volunteers, VIP Guests or Holistic Retreat [for
overseas guests seeking meaningful emotional healing after trauma, grief,
anxiety, the spiritual search etc] to stay for up
to one month for $897 In
addition to this, our tailored visit programs were devised to help raise
funds for caring and educational projects and assist our vision happen. Green
Essene is an established educational Essene based project under the direction
of a former Essene Minister. We seek to create a center for overseas
visitors for counseling and information on the holistic, vegetarian,
eco-organic healing lifestyle - a project which will also provide jobs for
disadvantaged Cambodian people. We raise our funds to do this by
also working with a native Cambodian monk who assists with the Volunteer
placements. We follow a specific and targeted program to assist those
in disadvantaged and challenging circumstances to have that extra help that
makes the difference between being able
to get ahead or being stuck. We achieve this through our HOLIDAYS WITH
HEART PROJECT, PERSONAL ITINERARIES AND PLANNED HOLIDAY VISITS. All
we need is for you to show up and enjoy this special visit for a short or
long stay up to four weeks. We will
make this a trip you will remember or perhaps even be transformed by. Or come along as a VOLUNTEER with the
project covered above. We need just a small number and will then be able to
get our ‘center’ happening and when we do, all sorts of other amazing
opportunities also begin to open up.

General Things to Know:
You need to take out travel insurance to cover your trip. You need to discuss with your doctor about your health, appropriate vaccinations or medicines etc that may be helpful to bring with you. You can obtain a 30 day visa on arrival at the airport. Tourist Visas are $20 USD. Business Visas are $25 USD. Prices are correct at time of writing this information. Bring a supply of current passport photos. You will need two for your visa, or two for a gym/spa package etc. Jetstar provide some of the cheapest fares to Cambodia from Singapore. We can advise on what we believe to be the best ways to get here. You can be met at the airport if you choose at no charge. Just let us know. Always use bottled water to drink and for cleaning your teeth. Accommodation
at destination is included, but not airfares or transport [except free pick
up at destination airport] or food [unless stated] and we will direct
you to your chosen volunteer work. Please
do not bring cell phones to workshops or appointments. You are responsible for your holiday and your plans and preparations.
